Enter: My Life from Camera Left

Welcome to the opening post of Reality Based Fiction!

What is RBF, you ask?

The name came about just tonight to be honest, but there does happen to be some meaning behind it.  If you stalk my Facebook page, and particularly my night time posting splurges, you may have seen me write this before:

I once considered making a film about my life, but then I realized it would be criticized as too unbelievable.

I stand by this statement whole-heartedly; it wasn’t a joke.  I’ve come to see my past as a sort of unconventional, humorous adventure.  After meeting quite a few characters, falling into some questionable circumstances, and pushing my luck to the limit, I’ve deemed my experiences fresh material.

As an aspiring filmmaker, I’ve always hoped to take from my own personal background and incorporate the best pieces into something stunning and new.  However, now it seems I’ll be scratching my autobiography off the list as it’s just too unreal.  Audiences would hate it- period.  Of course, I can pick and choose, like François Truffaut, so we’ll see how that goes.  Instead, I’ll write about my future fictional film based on the reality of my life.  Or perhaps my life is cliché, and is based on previous fiction instead.  Well, whichever.

Simply put, Reality Based Fiction is everything interesting there ever came to be within my life.  It contains dreams and aspirations, day-to-day musings and adventures, and of course, insomniac-inspired creativity and ideas (this post falls into this category).  I’ll try to keep it drama-free and mostly safe for work (yeah, right), but most importantly, I’ll try to only post what I think you might find interesting.  About me.  Because I’m that self-centered, apparently.  Haha.  Also, this post is probably a boring exception.  Please feel free to comment at any time.  :)
